Symposium Topics

The Symposium deals with building physics in a broad sense, and includes indoor climate, energy savings, innovative design, alternative building technology and the development of new calculation models and tools. Topics for the Symposium papers may be classified under the following headings:

  • Building envelope design and performance
  • Heat transfer and thermal insulation
  • Moisture transport
  • Air tightness and air movement
  • Measuring techniques
  • Properties of materials
  • Indoor climate
  • Durability
  • Conservation of energy and environment

The third day will be devoted to workshops on the following subjects

  1. Building Physics in design. To little and to late?
  2. Building Physics and the motors for change. How do we change common practice?
  3. Educating new building physics specialists. An international school for doctoral studies?

Moisture Safety Prize

The prize will be given to a person or persons that have influenced the building process for projects in the Nordic countries that fulfil the following requirements:

  • Moisture safety in design, construction and administration with concern to energy efficiency and environmental aspects
  • Showed good long-term performance during operation
